Constantinople Chestplate in Gold
The double-headed eagle was one of the symbols of Byzantine Empire. It's capital city is now called Istanbul, but back in the day, it was known as Constantinople.
A bold and elegant unisex accessory, I originally designed my Chestplates for men, but they can be worn by anyone with style.
Each one is hand painted and hand sewn by me, so slight differences exist, but shouldn’t be viewed as defects. Those tiny differences make up what is unique about hand made pieces of wearable art. Each one is lovingly hand-made, so please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
Each Chestplate style is now signed and numbered, and once they’re sold out, that’s it.
The double-headed eagle has been used since the time of the Roman armies. It later emerged in the Byzantine Empire and the migrated to North Eastern Europe. The most recent example is Imperial Russia. Like all ancient things, it has disappeared into the shadows of time, only to re-emerge as part of the "branding" of a new generation or regime.
